Mary- Mary is the Founder of Daybreak Salon and Spa. She began her cosmetology career in 1971 and has had experience doing color, cuts and styles through the last four decades.  She has owned her own salon since 1973, beginning with Mary’s Beauty Boutique which then transitioned into Headway Salon along with her husband, Gary.  With Headway Salon also being Aveda Concept, Mary was awarded as one of the Top two longevity Aveda Salons in the America.

Jerad- Jerad is one of our co-owners here at Daybreak Salon and Spa, along with his mother, Mary and sister, Jenee.  He graduated from Douglas J Aveda Institute in East Lansing in 2001.  To further his education in business, he attended The Aveda Business College. Jerad continues to attend Advanced Classes with Artists including, Van Michael, Ted Gibson, Nick Arrojo and Daniel Fiorio to further his training in Cosmetology.

Jenee- Jenee is one of our co-owners here at Daybreak Salon and Spa, along with her mother, Mary and brother, Jerad. She graduated in 2003 from Douglas J Aveda Institute in East Lansing; and also attended the Aveda Business College.  Jenee is a certified Hairlocs tm. Extension specialist and a former Aveda Makeup Coach. She has attended numerous Aveda hair shows, such as, Congress, Caravan Tour and Mid-America. Jenee continues to attend Business classes to further her education in growth and ownership.

Abby- Abby graduated from Douglas J Aveda Institute in East Lansing in 2003. Abby worked with us at Headway Salon for four years previous to working with us here at Daybreak Salon and Spa since 2007.  She is currently our Aveda In-Salon Cutting Coach and is in charge of training our New Talent Stylists in Haircutting.  She has attended many Aveda hair shows such as Mid America and the Chicago Hair Show.  Abby continues to further her technical and creative skills by taking advanced Aveda classes yearly.

Jessica- Jessica graduated in 2001 from Michigan College of Beauty in Monroe. Previous to working at Daybreak, Jessica worked at our former Headway Salon in Southgate for six years. Jessica has attended Aveda Coach Jam for color along with Aveda’s Mid America hair shows; she is also a former Aveda In-Salon Color Coach.

Carrie- Carrie has been a Hair Designer since 2003. She specializes in cutting, color and Aveda Chemical Straightening. Carrie has been educated through Aveda by taking several cutting, color and Formal styling classes. She continues her training yearly through Aveda.

Megan- Megan is a 2007 Douglas J Aveda Institute graduate of Ann Arbor. She has been with our team since the Grand Opening of Daybreak in 2007. Megan has been to many advanced education classes furthering her knowledge in cutting and hair coloring. She enjoys attending yearly hair shows through Aveda to keep her inspired and motivated. Megan also has a passion for makeup and learns the newest trends in Makeup applications

Nona- Nona graduated in 2006 from Douglas J Aveda Institute. She started her career at our previous location, Headway Salon and then moved to Daybreak Salon and Spa with us. She has attended various Aveda cutting, color and special occasion styling classes. Nona has attended Aveda’s Mid America hair show and continues her education through yearly classes.

Jen- Jen is a 2005 Douglas J Aveda Institute East Lansing graduate and has been working at Daybreak Salon since 2008. Prior to Daybreak, she worked as an educator at the Aveda Institute Chicago.  Jen is our Aveda In-Salon Color Coach which involves her training our new talent Stylists. Jen specializes in color, highlights and corrective color.

Alicia- Alicia has been a stylist since 2004 and is our Hair Extension Specialist; she offers three methods of hair extensions. www.hairlocs.com, www.ultratress.com, www.halocouture.com Alicia is also the southeast area rep Freedom Stylist which is a program that puts girls in Cambodia through Cosmetology school. www.raphahouse.org

Shannon- Shannon is a 2007 graduate from David Pressley School of Cosmetology. She started her career here at Daybreak Salon and Spa in 2008. She has attended cutting and color classes through Aveda, as well as attending Aveda Congress hair show to build her education and experience here at Daybreak Salon and Spa.

Amanda- Amanda has been a great addition to our team at Daybreak since she graduated Douglas J Aveda Institute in Royal Oak in 2009. She is a talented and perceptive stylist who will take time to guarantee her guests get results that exceed their expectations.

Michelle- Michelle graduated from Douglas J Aveda Institute East Lansing in 2009 specializing in Highlights for women and men. She has taken classes for Aveda Color systems and solutions and is very knowledgeable in Aveda products.

Heather- Heather graduated from the Brown Aveda Institute in 2010. She is a very enthusiastic and dedicated stylist that enjoys making you look and feel great.  Heather has taken classes in cutting and plans to further her education in Aveda color, cutting and styling.

June- June graduated from the Douglas J Aveda Institute Ann Arbor in 2010. She specializes in cutting hair and truly enjoys pampering guests and making them feel great about themselves. She continued her training through attending Aveda Color Systems and Solutions and has plans to further her education in cutting, color and styling in the future.

Jennifer- Jennifer graduated from Tri-State Beauty School and has been working as a Nail Technician since 1994. She became a member of our team in 2007. Jenny enjoys one on one time with each of her guests and strives to make each experience enjoyable and relaxing.

Anne- Although Anne is fairly new to our team; she has been doing nails for years.  It’s not just a nail service but an experience; you are guaranteed to feel pampered and relaxed after an appointment with Anne.

Elizabeth- Elizabeth is a graduate from Michigan College of Beauty in 2010. Her passion is nail art; she is always finding ways to be creative! She pays special attention to artistry and relaxation in all of her nail services.

Emily- Emily graduated from Irenes Myomassology School in 2004. She is an internationally trained Massage/Bodywork Specialist and Reiki Master who fuses many eastern and western modalities. Her hands-on treatments are truly a body-mind-spirit experience.

Chuck- Chuck graduated from Irene’s Myomassology School in 2003 and has been a Massage Therapist at Daybreak since 2011. He is very knowledgeable on all the different massage techniques.

Veronica- Veronica is a talented addition to our Massage team. Having joined us in 2010, Veronica makes it her priority to make sure each guest is treated to a relaxing and rejuvenating experience using Aveda products.

Melissa- Melissa graduated Esthiology School in 2006 and is very passionate about her clients skin care needs and helping educate them on their skin with at home skin regimens.  Special occasion Makeup is another passion of Melissa’s’ including educating her clients from start to finish.  She attends Aveda education classes yearly to further her education.
